HomeWeekly Pub Runs

MVS Pub Run is BACK April 18!

Back by popular demand is the MVS Pub Run Series for Season 13!

What is it?

This weekly event is open to all runners and "walk to run" athletes who are interested in combining the love of running with a whole lot of fun. The purpose of these runs is first, and foremost, to encourage and enhance running at all levels – yes, that is the MVS mission statement. The second objective is to have some fun!

We have designed a course that is about 3.45 miles (or an optional 2 mile loop) that is run on quiet neighborhood streets with a minimum of traffic. But remember, this is not a race with closed streets and course monitors. For a downtown course, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how scenic it is while keeping hills to a minimum (NOT eliminated, though).

Is This a Competitive Event?

Just as running is for most of us, this Pub Run is as competitive as you’d like it to be. Participation is the key ingredient. Times will be recorded only if you time yourself – we encourage it, but it’s totally optional. Stick around afterwards for fine food and libations at Stachey's Pizza! There is usually a surprise or two for those who stay.

When do we start?

Our first event will start on Thursday, April 18 at 6:30PM (6:00 PM starting September 19), and then EVERY Thursday until the last run on October 3, 2024.

Where?

High Street, North Andover. The runs start at the parking lot next to Dentist Collaborative and finish at the front door 3.45 miles later.

How do I sign up and how much does it cost?

There are no pre-entries. You simply have to show up at least 15 minutes before the start, sign a waiver form (just once for the whole series) and you're good to go. It's FREE! Just bring a smile and a positive attitude.

Same Course as last year?

Yes. We tweaked the course just a tad a couple years ago so that we don't have to run up High Street (yes, that big hill) at the start. Using the same streets as last year in a slightly different manner, we improve parking, eliminate starting on a hill, and running into oncoming traffic. We believe it's safer, irons out a nasty hill, and adds just a bit to the distance - now it's 3.45 miles. Hint - we get to run the prettiest part twice!

See you Thursday Evening!
